Solar Energy and Hot Rocks. 07/07/2011
I am delighted to see this solar plant story. Looking at the distances you would need to cover to get around all those solar panels. I was thrilled when I heard that Australia is building huge solar power plants also. There was even talk on the news tonight that they may build a hot rocks plant at Innaminka in Australia's outback that could provide enough power for a quarter of Australia. We have the technology now, we do not need to keep polluting to make power. Groundbreaking solar plant in Spain generates 24 hours of power www.grist.org Designed to utilize thousands of mirrors and molten salt to generate electricity, the plant is the first ever to run uninterrupted for a full day.
